You can't read the fine print in the web-sized image, but the title of the booklet is "Your Life Together: Health Information You Need To Know." It contained state-mandated birth control information intended to prevent "accidents" and unwanted children. Of course for gay spouses, children were neither "accidents" nor unwanted, and hence the booklet, along with its authoritative cover illustration of a bride and groom, became a source of much hilarity for many gay couples.
The other thing about the booklet is that those who were wandering around aimlessly holding this booklet had already finished their paperwork and were looking for where to have their ceremonies performed. This made it easy for me to spot the bright purple booklet covers and direct those holding it to where they needed to go.
