On many occasions, I overheard various people express their surprise by how many kids they saw in City Hall. Whether they were brought by supportive relatives (as was the case in the above image) or if they belonged to the couples being married, there was no denying that these weddings were regarded by many involved as a family affair. For the younger children, they had no idea of the political ramifications behind watching their family members go through something as simple as waiting in line, filing some paperwork, and stepping into the open rotunda to exchange a few vows in public.

Some of them were harder than others to keep up with.

These two were ready to throw rice right there in the County Clerk's office, but I managed to convince everyone that it'd be a better idea save that until after the actual ceremony. Besides, the clerks already had a mess of paperwork to deal with.

I had to leave this party to lead another couple to have their ceremony performed, and I wish I had gotten a shot of this little guy strutting around. He was the best dressed person in the room.

This girl was a bit wary of cameras (and mine was much bigger than her moms'), but I managed to catch her while she was being coaxed to pose for a shot or two. She was one of many little ring bearers running around. (Note: I counted no hobbits among them.)

I can probably fill up an entire album with all the pictures I have of the children there. And I don't even like kids, but the little tykes were everywhere, constantly underfoot.
