I saw a few other couples who had someone holding out cell phones during their ceremonies. In fact, in one of those cases, it was the twin sister of one of the brides acting as a remote bridesmaid of honor. Unfortunately I was manning the couples' camera at the time, so I didn't get a shot of my own for that group. I probably wound up shooting more frames using other people's cameras than with my own, since this way everyone can be in the pictures of the ceremonies, and they can take their film or image files home with them. Besides, whether it's cell phones or cameras, it's fun to play with other people's gadgets.
By the way, her mother was on the line from Florida. She was sobbing through the ceremony.
