I don't know why, but whenever there was a Jewish wedding, they came out in force. Because of my antipathy toward crowds and my unwillingness to jockey with members of the wedding party for spots (it's their wedding, not mine), it was hard for me to get good shots of a Jewish wedding. I got lucky with this one: I happened to be chatting with Bill Jones as everyone took their positions, and I found myself with a front row spot right next to him. Some of the Jewish weddings I've seen involved doing some oil thing, and others did the drink wine out of the same glass thing, but nobody left out the stomping of the glass. And, of course, Mazeltov!

I don't know two sticks about Judaism, and this was the first time I heard the word "Mazeltov" used as anything but the punchline of a joke. Who would have thought that one could go to gay weddings to learn about Jewish culture?
