Both sides on the gay marriage debate came out to lend their support to their respective cause. I thought reprinting one's marriage license on a t-shit was an interesting tactic, a tactic which was repeated with reproductions upon signs and posters at the rally the night the California Supreme Court shut the gay marriages down.
At the time, being gay at City Hall made you lots of instant friends, ready to lend their support. The cynic in me is reminded of Benjamin Franklin's aphorism: "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." It's startling to see how divisive this issue has become.
